Private Sewing Lessons

Our private sewing lessons and fashion illustration lessons for children, teens and adults can cover beginner, intermediate and advanced sewing, fashion sketching, knitting, crochet, and portfolio development. Choose from our menu of projects or create your own!

We work on easy to use Bernette by Bernina sewing machines in our fully equipped sewing studio.

You can even bring in your own sewing machine for a lesson on how to use it!

We pair you with an instructor who will fit your specific needs and skill level. Our individual or group private sewing lessons are sure to have you sewing in no time!

Private sewing and fashion design lessons can include:

Beginner Sewing Instruction Like sewing machine operation and a basic project like a tote bag or throw pillow!
Intermediate Sewing Skills For example, sewing clothing such as skirts, dresses and basic pants!
Advanced Sewing Techninques Such as inserting a zipper, sewing an inset sleeve, or creating a blind hem.

Simple Pattern Making and Draping Our knowledgeable instructors can show you how your body measurements can be made into a basic pattern or sloper. We can also teach the basics of draping on a dress form.
Fashion Sketching and Illustration From the basic Croquis (fashion figure) to fabric rendering our teachers can take your sketching skills to the next level!

Private Lesson Sewing Project Suggestions

All private lessons are one-on-one in a private classroom and are $90 per hour. Want to bring a friend? Each additional student is $50 per hour.

Fabric is included for any project chosen from our menu (you’re also welcome to bring your own!). Just a heads up—our fabric selection tends to suit younger students, so if you have something specific in mind, feel free to bring it along.

Below you’ll find some suggested projects that are great for all sewing levels. Have your own idea? Amazing—we’d love to help bring your design to life, but first, fill out this form so that we can pair you with the right instructor and create a plan.

Please note: At this time, we’re not able to offer lessons in men's tailoring, swimwear, evening wear, or lingerie, as these are specialized areas of instruction.

Private Sewing Lesson - The Fashion Class

Tote Bag

Create a handbag to carry-it-all with our classic tote! An easy projects for beginners that reflects your personal style.

Twist Head Band

This oh-so-stylish turban styled headband will have everyone asking "where'd you get that?" Easy to sew, this is a great starter project.

Throw Pillow

With a variety of uses and styles to choose from you or your 'lil ones will be measuring, cutting, sewing and stuffing in no time!

  • Fabric Type: Anything can work, such as cotton, denim or even fun spandex prints!

Skater Skirt

This gorgeous skirt is right on trend! Make it a mini or more. Features a stretch waist.

Warm and cozy, our shrug sewing project is a winter wardrobe staple. Perfect for layering, make it in a lighter fabric for spring and fall too!

Tunic Dress

An easy, breezy dress - perfect all year round! Made from stretch fabric this mid-thigh length dress will have you proudly saying 'I made this!'

Wide Leg Pants

These comfy pants (with an elastic waist band) can be used for sleep, lounge wear, or even going out - it all depends on the fabric you choose!
