DIY Felt Pencil Roll Craft for Kids

Introducing the delightful and practical DIY Pencil Roll – a charming and versatile craft that seamlessly combines creativity and functionality. Crafted from a single sheet of felt, this pencil roll is an ingenious solution for both organization and style. My favorite thing about this craft is that it removes the annoyance of struggling to fit colored pencils back into a damaged box, while also adding a wonderfully stylish touch to your art supplies!

You will need:

Steps:

  1. Fold felt in half so that you have one long rectangle
  2. Punch 12 holes, starting 1” from the bottom, making each hole approx. 1” apart. Holes should be 2” from the edge of the felt.
  3. Open the felt then fold one long side in towards the center. Mark the punched holes through to the other side with your marker.
  4. Open the felt again, then fold in half again just as you did in step 1.
  5. Punch holes through both layers of felt along your marker dots.
  6. Open the felt, you should have 12 rows of 4 holes each.
  7. Thread your pencils through the holes and roll up the felt
  8. Wrap your ribbon around the roll so the ends are even
  9. Begin gluing the ribbon around the roll leaving the ends free to tie into a bow.
