Looking for a sewing machine? There are several machines we recommend that are great for kids and easy to use. The Fashion Class is a Singer Sponsored Sewing Studio. Our students work on state-of-the-art touch screen sewing machines.

Our creative classes for children and teens take place after school and on weekends for multiple weeks throughout the school year. Students learn to sew real and wearable clothing in our signature Fashion Design and Sewing class over an 8-12 week period. Our sewing courses for kids run for 8-12 weeks throughout the school year. Children and teen students will learn how to use the sewing machine while they create real and wearable clothing for themselves! Fashion Camps in Manhattan

When school is out Fashion Camp is in! We offer one-day camps during all school holidays and week-long camps throughout the summer for ages 6-8, 9-12 and 13-17 years old. Our campers learn to use the sewing machine to create real clothing and accessories. We round out the day with fun fashion lessons like creating a fashion business and jewelry making!

This is a fun group activity for children, teens and adults interested in Fashion Design or fans of the show Project Runway! Meet us at our Manhattan Studio as we channel Tim Gunn and give you your next fashion challenge. After we arrive at Mood Designer Fabrics (where the designers shop on Project Runway) you will have thirty minutes to select and purchase your fabric. Who is your biggest inspiration? I am inspired by my parents. They both work in the arts and have encouraged creativity since I was a baby. They've taught me the importance of working hard, being humble, and believing in yourself. They push themselves every day to improve their strengths, and I couldn't be more proud to have them in my life.

Favorite flavor of ice-cream? Ben and Jerry's Phish Food

Why do you love teaching children to sew? It's a skill they can really build upon and grow with. They can easily catch on to make simple projects, but as they practice, they are able to create very detailed and unique projects. The best part is when they try something on for the first time. I love seeing their eyes light up in the mirror when they see how the pieces of fabric combined with their sewing has created something they can wear!

Why do you love teaching children to sew? I love the pride they show once they figure something out or create a garment for themselves, it makes teaching so enjoyable. I also love teaching children fashion because by making something together we get to know one another and by the end of the semester a class feels like a little family and it’s so fun!

Why do you love teaching fashion & sewing? I love sharing my passion with others. I have loved fashion since I was little and it's such an honor to be able to pass on my knowledge to a new generation of designers and help them follow their dreams.

Favorite fashion job ever? I loved working at the Cloth House fabric store in London. I got to work with costume designers for Game of Thrones, Harry Potter and designers such as Alexander McQueen! It was such an exciting job that was different every day and I got to learn so much about fabrics and their characteristics which you often don’t have the time to learn about in fashion college.

When you're not sewing you are? Thinking about sewing or playing the piano!

Favorite type of fabric? Wool suiting- I love structured pieces

Why do you love teaching children to sew? I love seeing the confidence and empowerment that children gain in creating something that is entirely their own. It’s also exciting to be a part of helping them build on a skill that can benefit them throughout their lives.
