Our Trip to The Fabric Store

November 2, 2011 in Classes, Student Work

This Tuesday we took a trip to 21st Century fabrics, my absolute favorite fabric store in the garment center. Students were given $5 each to purchase fabric for their next project; Pajama pants!

We bought all kinds of fleece in zebra and cheetah prints as well as plaid wool and solid cotton!

Fashion Art Classes

October 27, 2011 in Classes, News, Slider, Student Work

We’ve been working hard at The Fashion class learning how to draw fashion. This week we began looking at fabric prints like Missoni and Liberty of London. We then started to design our own fabric making prints and patterns. Some students created a repeat pattern and others designed an entire page. These designs will be transferred onto actual fabric and we’ll sew a clutch purse out of our custom fabric next week!
