Our sewing, design and fashion art classes for teenagers run in Manhattan as an after school or weekend program for 10 weeks.  Our Brooklyn classes for teens run on Saturday mornings in five week courses on etiquette and fashion style.

Fashion Art + Design is a great way to start learning about fashion design. Students learn how to draw the fashion figure (called the croquis), apparel, accessories, and color their work like an industry pro. Students also learn all about famous fashion designers and how designers garner inspiration for their collections. At the end of the session students will have created their own fabric print, designed with markers, pencils, and watercolor, and will have designed a full collection to display at the fashion show.

Fashion Design + Sewing is a great class for teenagers who want to learn how to make their own clothing.  Students learn to use the sewing machine to create clothing for themselves. Using patterns students create various projects that change each course, including a denim skirt, PJ pants, a tote bag, and a re-constructed t-shirt. Our designers are given free reign to stylize and decorate their creations with our Bedazzler,  fabric paint, ribbon and trim so each product has their own unique touch. This class ends with a fashion show for parents and friends.

Feel Pretty & Confident is a teenage girl’s guide to building confidence through fashion, styling, and social skills. Presented in conjunction with the etiquette program at our Brooklyn location this class is five one-hour sessions – 3 in fashion, 2 in social skills. Students learn how to decipher their own personal style. dress for their body type, and accessorize. They also learn how to speak clearly and confidently in public and dining etiquette. It’s our own (short) version of fashion finishing school!

Fashion Accessories and Embellishment is the perfect course for the student who wants to learn to sew and decorate their clothing. Students will work on sewing machines as well as learning hand sewing skills. Special guests and fashion industry pro’s will teach embroidery, fabric painting, millinery (hats!), and jewelry design skills and techniques. The students will model their creations in our teen-only fashion show!
