The Fashion Class began in 2009 as an after-school program offered to private New York city schools. After a popular first year and even more popular second (with new schools added to our list each term) The Fashion Class began offering classes outside of schools so that any students could learn to sew and design despite where they attended school.
We now offer classes in Midtown Manhattan and Bensonhurst Brooklyn for children and teenagers ages 6 through 18 years.
Our classes include fashion drawing, art + design, craft making, accessory design, sewing and fashion design. All supplies are included in our fee and all students keep their creations. Our sessions end with a fashion show and gallery event where our students model and showcase the clothing, accessories, and artwork they’ve created throughout the year.
Our founder, Kerri Quigley, is a Brooklyn native and graduate of Parsons School of Design, she also teaches many of the classes and loves to run the fashion shows!
Our Equipment
We sew on a variety of safe, basic home sewing machines made by Singer, Brother, and Janome. We also use low heat glue guns, BeDazzlers, and sometimes fabric paint.
